Mat Pilates classes in Earlsfield
Mat Pilates is the O.G Pilates method, just you and your mat. Don’t be fooled though, Mat Pilates will challenge you in a whole new way.
Mat Pilates classes in Earlsfield
Mat Pilates is great combination of strength work, breathwork, mobility and healthy movement to get your body working better. Even though you don’t have the Reformer, you will have your own bodyweight and props such as the ball, ring and weights. Mat Pilates is just as challenging as Reformer but in a different way – give it a try!
Is Mat Pilates suitable for me?
Yes Mat Pilates is suitable to all levels. If you practice consistently, Mat Pilates can help with your strength, flexibility and coordination and is great for injury prevention. You will feel muscles that you’ve never felt before and get a good workout.
What are the benefits of Mat Pilates?
The main benefits of Mat Pilates are as follows:
• Core Strength: Enhances core stability and strength, improving posture and reducing back pain.
• Flexibility: Increases flexibility and muscle endurance without stressing the joints.
• Mind-Body Connection: Promotes relaxation and mental well-being through precise, controlled movements.
• Accessibility: Can be done at home with minimal equipment, making it accessible to everyone.
Do you still get a good workout with Mat Pilates?
Yes as you will be working with bodyweight as well as props that will add in a bit of a fire and burn to your exercise class.
What are the differences from Reformer to Mat Pilates?
Mat Pilates relies on body weight and props, whilst Reformer Pilates is on a specialised machine with adjustable resistance. For Mat Pilates all you need is a mat and can do anywhere, whilst with Reformer you need to be on the machine and have clear guidance from an instructor. Reformer Pilates is better for clinical rehabilitation 1-1s if suffering from a specific injury. Both Mat Pilates and Reformer compliment each other very well and will give your Pilates workouts a good sense of variety.
