Is Yoga suitable for me?

Yoga is an ancient practice that combines mindfulness, movement and breath that will make you feel stretched, energised and centred. It focuses on connecting the mind and body, helping to give you the tools to remain calm in the face of adversity.

The types of Yoga we offer at Avalon are Vinyasa, and Yin Yoga. Vinyasa and Rocket practices are dynamic and strong, expect to be challenged, whilst Yin Yoga is a perfect wind down after a stressful day.

What are the benefits of Yoga?

Yoga is not only about the physical practice, but in the way it gives you the space to reconnect with yourself, leaving you feeling more grounded, balanced and calm. Yoga will help with aspects such as flexibility, strength, core, mindfulness and general wellbeing

Can beginners start Yoga?

Yes Yoga is open to all levels, just tell the instructor at the start of the class that you’re a beginner and they will look after you.

What are the different styles of Yoga?

At Avalon we host Vinyasa, and Yin classes. Vinyasa is more dynamic and connect to the yan state of mind, whilst our Yin classes are restorative and relaxing.

What are the differences from Yoga to Mat Pilates?

Both Pilates and yoga are low-impact exercises, but when practicing yoga, you typically adopt a position and hold it, or flow into a different position. In Pilates, you aren’t as static and Pilates focuses on controlled movements, often repeating the same movement with precision.

Wear flexible clothing and bring a water bottle and Pilates socks. We sell Pilates socks and water in the studio too.
