Is Reformer Pilates safe during pregnancy?

Reformer Pilates is safe during pregnancy when supervised by a qualified instructor. If you have any complications then you need to check with your doctor first that you’re safe to exercise. You can do Reformer Pilates right up until you’re ready to give birth and it’s a great way to maintaining your fitness levels, whilst building strength.

What classes can I attend if pregnant at Avalon?

In first trimester you can attend any class. In second trimester you can attend Fundamental classes, Chill & Stretch and Prenatal classes. We recommend in your third trimester to stick with prenatal classes only for safety and comfort.

How often can I attend prenatal reformer pilates classes per week?

This depends on your current fitness level, how your pregnancy is progressing, and any advice given by your healthcare provider. Generally, if you were active before pregnancy and have no complications, you might be able to attend classes 2-3 times per week, allowing time for rest between sessions.

At what stage of my pregnancy can I start Reformer Pilates?

You can start Reformer Pilates at any stage of your pregnancy, but it's best to consult your healthcare provider first to ensure it’s safe for your specific situation.

Do I need a doctor’s clearance to start Reformer Pilates during pregnancy?
